Happy New Year
Hello Rabbit Run parents. We hope your winter break was peaceful and filled with joy. Kelly and I were so happy to see all of your children’s sweet faces yesterday. We truly are grateful for the opportunity to spend each day with your little ones. This month we will be discussing “Needs of Man”. We will talk about the basic needs like food, clothing, shelter, and water, as well as our secondary needs and wants. What we want is not always what we need, right? Be looking for those conversations at home. I would like to remind everyone that the weather has finally changed. This is hoodie, boots, and tights weather. The kids look so cute all bundled up. Sometimes, though, the cutest outfits are not the most functional outfits in the Montessori environment. For example, pants with buttons, boots that are difficult to get on and off, or layers of pants can make bathroom independence difficult. Especially if you have a stripper…...That’s someone who strips down to go potty. Just something to keep in mind this time of year. Anything we can do to make the children more independent and successful in the classroom is always welcomed. Also, make sure you label every single item of clothing that your children bring to school. There is a Target on every corner and those jackets start to look the same. Your children are doing a lot of important work these days…..Please Remember The Friday Bags!!!!! Last, but not least, thank you all so much for the gifts and well wishes for the holidays. Kelly and I are always in awe of your generosity and thoughtfulness. We just look at each other some days and think, “How did we get so lucky?” One thing that many of you said, that is so nice to hear, is that you thank us for taking good care of your children and for teaching them so much. I want to say, in the most sincere way possible, that we are the ones that should be thanking you. I never realized the impact that we as guides could have on a child. I didn’t grasp the severity of it until I had children of my own. For you to trust us in such a way, that you would leave your most precious treasures with us….is truly moving. We are grateful for your trust, for your support and for the opportunity to be a part of your children’s lives. That is simply all the thanks that we need. Don’t get me wrong….the Starbucks gift cards are super handy on a Friday, but it’s the little hand that gives it to us with a huge smile and a loving hug that really makes it special. So, THANK YOU! Sincerely, Jessica and Kelly
