Road Runner Families!
Fall is in the air and we are taking full advantage of this lovely weather! The children have been working in the garden, raking leaves and making bird feeders for our trees on our back porch. Thank you again for all of the donations toward our wonderful garden and to Rhonda for helping us maintain our thriving vegetables and flowers.
Our afternoon class has been learning about stage presence, performing and engaging the audience in preparation for their production of the play - The Little Witch with the Broken Broomstick and will be performing it for the parents Oct. 30th.
We enjoy singing as a group everyday. Here are a some of the songs we sing:
- Five Green and Speckled Frogs
- Days of the week
- Five Little Pumpkins
- Counting 1-10 in English, Spanish and French
Some of the broad concept lessons that have been presented to the class this month:
- Vertebrate / Invertebrate
- Parts of the skeleton
- What is a mammal?
- Temperature and weather change / reading a thermometer
What is a broad concept lesson?
These are lessons that are given on circle time to the entire class that introduce a broad concept such as vertebrate /invertebrate. Often times materials pertaining to the broad concept lesson are then available to the children for individual work.
Our classroom art project for the Fall Farmhouse Fandango silent auction has been greeted enthusiastically by the children. Can't wait for everyone to see it. See you there!
