Parent involvement is critical to the success of our school, and our teachers and administrative team are truly grateful to each parent who gives time toward making our school a stronger community. The majority of Cedars fundraising is done through events that focus on building community. It is only with the support and hard work of our parents that these events can occur. Please consider donating to Cedars to help us create community experiences that will last a lifetime! Find us on Paypal: @CedarsMontessori
Contributions to the Cedars Montessori School annual fund provide support for many endeavors. Below are just a few ways parent contributions support Cedars in its efforts on the children's behalf:
new outdoor opportunities for students (such as the elementary ropes course, Gaga ball pit upgrades, shared garden spaces, animal and beekeeping)
new Montessori materials for each classroom
tuition assistance for students in our community who otherwise could not attend Cedars
continuing education for staff including workshops, courses and intensives.
beautiful and inviting outdoor environments that we ALL can share!
Yearbook (Year Round for Each elementary Class): Help is needed with specific photography assignments, lay-out, artistic design, and yearbook sales.
Fall Fandango (November): This is a family-friendly event with live musical entertainment as well as a silent auction. Help is needed in all of the following committees: Silent auction, table/ticket sales, advertising, decorating, set-up and especially clean-up.
Spring Festival (April): This is a child-friendly event and lots of fun for the whole family. Help is needed to procure food, beverage, raffle and monetary sponsorship, and games. Also needed is help with food prep and sales, ticket sales, raffle, set-up, clean-up.
Going Outs (all school year): "Going Outs," are a vital part of the Montessori elementary experience. On these outings, students go off campus to deepen their understanding of a topic, to purchase supplies and materials needed for our classroom or environment, or to take part in community service. A Going Out provides authentic and purposeful practice of life skills such as project management, phone skills, navigating directions, managing money, interacting with the general public, and serving others. Children gain confidence and compassion by planning, preparing for, and executing these outings.
Teacher Appreciation Luncheon (May): The families of Cedars show their tremendous appreciation to the teachers and staff by honoring them with a year-end, parent-organized and prepared teacher luncheon.
Family Gardening Days (various times): Families all come together on a Saturday multiple times a year to pull weeds, cut back plants and trees and overall just enjoy our incredible spaces together as a community! Our resident gardener will be the one leading families in various projects Spring and Fall.
